The Standard – March 5th!

The Standard returns after a month’s hiatus, and we have decided to bring D. Rose back to set the stage on fire like he was supposed to.

D. Rose is one of those rare artists who doesn’t just plan to make music, but actually overanalyzes it and breaks down the concepts, ideas, meanings, and possibilities. It’s not enough to him to just make words rhyme over a beat, there has to be a purpose. One of the more original artists to come out of Houston in a while, in the vein of The Legendary K-O (K-Otix), H.I.S.D., & Lower Life Form, D. Rose is a part of a crop of Houston artists who have a seriously original sound and vibe to them, and given the right chance, could breathe life back in to an ailing Houston music scene where everybody has begun t o sound the same. (Sorry if that offends some of you artists out there, but if the shoe fits, right?*)

The difference between D. Rose and most artists out there is the level of commitment. Aside from being an absolute professional, and perfectionist, dude is not a fair weather artist – he’s not going to stop as soon as the going gets tough.

Seriously, if you’re looking to find new music from an artist you may or may not have heard of before, you really want to give D. Rose a chance. You will not be disappointed.

Oh, plus our very own Remix will be returning to the turntables for one night to help handle the sound system. Expect nothing but greatness.
