It feels so good to be home! Columbus was a total change of pace that I wasn’t ready for. It did open my eyes though, and that was totally worth the trip, plus I was due for a vacation anyways. As I said before, I was supposed to dj So What Wednesdays with Blueprint and Dj Detox. Unfortunately, my Powerbook decided it was too cold, and wouldn’t turn on.
After that, my night turned into one long sentence of “fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck…” Wes Flexner of DoneWaiting.com, who’s like the Matt Sonzala of the midwest, helped put me on, and I couldn’t even come through. I couldn’t help but be pissed and embarrassed. But if nothing else, now I know I have to go back soon and finish the job. Meanwhile, I have a few choice words to share with Steve Jobs right now.
First my camera doesn’t want to work, then my Powerbook? I was hating life. Still though, all in all, everything was cool as hell. It was a huge culture shock, and I can only imagine the day when Lower Life Form, Mic Skills, K-O, PKT, and all my homies start hitting the road and seeing what a culture shock it is across the country (except for Ish, of course, who’s so jaded and who’s seen everything, that nothing surprises him anymore.)
Thursday I woke up at noon, hung out and rested a little bit, then hit the streets of Columbus, and checked out OSU, and just snapped flicks with my camera phone. Around 8pm, all the boys were getting off work, so we head back to the house, get some food, and just hang out until 4am, when I have to head to the airport. I take off from Columbus to Atlanta, and finally to Houston, only to get about 3 hours worth of sleep finally, and head off to dj a shitty club which will remain nameless, due to the owner being a dick, and not paying me my full price. I’ll just say this, if you’re in the Galleria area on a Friday night and looking to party, save The Roxy for Saturday night, and just head to the Bronx Bar, anything else down there isn’t worth your time.
In the end, I’m back, and ready to get to work. Don’t forget that Monday we’ll be posting up Episode Two of HoustonHipHop.com Radio, so check back in for that. Until then though….
Cheers,
